As I was looking for something to blog about, I found a very interesting article of a skeleton that was found under a parking lot! How odd?! The article never really did make a clear explanation of why scientists felt the need to dig in the parking lot for the skeleton, but they did! Anyway, as scientists started to do DNA tests the results came out that the skeleton was King Richard III! What was very neat to me, was that he died in 1485, and yet technology today found two of Richard's modern-day descendents! One, is an unknown donor, and the second is a 17th generation descendent of Richard's oldest sister, Anne of York!
Anyway, there were very amazing stories about King Richard III, and how scientists think he died! There's also little opinions of King Richard III's past, and it was just so cool! I encourage those that are reading this article to check it out! http://cosmiclog.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/02/04/16832540-verdict-issued-on-skeleton-found-under-parking-lot-its-king-richard-iii?lite
I wonder why they decided to dig in the parking lot? They must have thought it used to be a grave yard or battle field. At least it wasn't all for nothing. It is amazing that their are still descendents left living today!
ReplyDeleteIt's odd that they were digging in a parking lot. But it's cool that the body is so old!
