Meteror hits Russia

Early Friday morning, February 15, a huge meteor hits Russia's Chelyabinsk region. The meteor made a very powerful shock wave that left nearly a thousand people injured, blew out this windows of citizen's houses, and caused a roof of a factory to collapse in.  It is said that there are multiple videos of the meteor crashing into Russia. Some people who were from the scene claim to have heard the sound of a loud boom, followed by the loud sounds of car alarms. “There was panic. People had no idea what was happening. Everyone was going around to people’s houses to check if they were OK,” Chelyabinsk resident Sergey Hametov told The Associated Press. “We saw a big burst of light then went outside to see what it was and we heard a really loud thundering sound.” They have estimated that they were around five hundred people injured and close to one hundred people hospitalized. Chelyabinsk health official Marina Moskvicheva, claims that there were as many as 985 people who requested to have medical attention in the city. Many of the injuries were said to be caused by flying glass. Russia’s interior ministry said the shock wave caused the roof of a zinc factory's warehouse to collapse, but that no fatalities were reported. It is reported that the meteor weighed about ten tons and left a trail behind it that could be seen 125 miles away in the nearing town of Yekaterinburg. Do you think the meteor will come close to North America any time soon? http://cosmiclog.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/02/15/16969092-streaking-meteor-explodes-in-russian-sky-injuring-nearly-1000?lite
