Carnival cruise ship crippled at sea

A 4,000-plus Carnival cruise ship that was stranded at sea during a four-day voyage in the Gulf of Mexico is headed home.  A fire in the engine room of the 14 story ship  disabled the ship leaving the passengers stranded out to sea without running water and a shortage of food.
Passengers  are sleeping on the decks due to no air-conditioning on board, toilets are over-flowing with poop due to no water for flushing, and getting sick eating what food is available due to not being refrigerated because of no electricity.  Toilets have over flowed causing flooding on the lower floors.
The cruise ship was expected to arrive in at the Mobile cruise terminal late Thursday night, but due to in the towing process the towline broke delaying arrival time.  When passengers arrive in Alabama  they  have different choices available by the cruise line to return home.
Why wasn't another cruise ship sent to pick up elderly, handicap, sick, and young passenger?
Food could of been dropped of by helicopter or smaller boats?
