25% of Teens have been Cyberbullied

I have recently read an article on cnn.com about cyberbullying. It told me that about 25% of teenagers have been cyberbullied at some time. Researchers have set up surveys of 15,000 middle and high school students throughout the United State, and found that about 10% of teens have been victims of cyberbullying recently. Cyberbullying is a way for kids to bully while being anonymous, but it also takes the same roles as at school bullying. Cyberbullying can be very dangerous because they can bully you at any time of the day.

Brandon Turley, who was cyberbullied has set up a website for bullying called WeStopHate.org. Researchers have found out that the cyberbullying its rare that online it will be a total stanger. Most of the cyberbullying happens with the same social group you are in. 85% of the time, the victim knows who the bully is.

I am completely against cyberbullying, or bullying in general. I feel people bully to make them feel better about themselves because they aren't getting the attention at home. I feel the internet has caused way more risk to children and bullying. I think there isn't any way that you can prevent bullying, but we need to get anti-bullying schools. I feel people need to realize what bullying can do to people and hopefully that will make people realize the effects of bullying. What is your outlook on bullying? Do you feel cyberbullying makes the internet a bad place for children?
