Joy

Joy
The poem under analysis is called Joy by an unknown author. The poet uses a poetic device called free verse. The poet also capitalizes joy in every sentence that it’s in. This makes the poem lively and honest. The author also uses metaphors such as, “Without Joy the world is colorless and Without Joy the mind is dreamless.”
The author of this poem states that joy, or happiness, is everywhere you go and in everyone you see. Joy is even there when you’re mad or upset. If joy was not present in this life then no one is happy, “Without Joy the world is colorless. Without Joy the mind is dreamless.” When joy is in your life everything is bright and inviting. Some ways of sharing joy is by giving and helping others when they are in need of it. “You can feel Joy by sharing. You can feel Joy by giving.” The author points out that we should “make Joy grow.” I interpret this as you can never have too much joy in your life and you should make every second count.
The overall message in this poem is that you should look at the little things in life and be happy for what you have and share your joy with others. I’ve  come to think that many people are joyful and when you talk to someone that’s always happy and smiling they just make your day a whole lot better. I agree with this author. We should definitely be more joyful in my opinion.
