Poem Analysis
“Without” by Mohamed Fazloon            Katlyn Cowlham
The poem I chose is called “Without” and im my opinion the poem is mainly about the value of life and all of its qualities. I think its about how life would be nothing without some of the good qualities.
In the first line, “Without respect love is lost,” is a good example about how you can’t love without having respect for people and the ones you love. The second line, “Without care love is crossed,” is kinda of similar to the first line because if you don’t care about the people you love then they won’t love you back or they will leave you.
The third line, “Without honestly everything is dead,” basically says that if you’re not honest with people then nobody will listen to you or care what you have to say.
The fourth line, “Without life time is the overhead,” I think it means that if you don’t try and live your life then time will just tick by and pretty soon your time is almost up. The fifth line, “Without ambition career is spoiled,” means that if you have no ambition then you’re not going to get anything accomplished in life and you will lose your job.
The sixth line, “Without guidance love is not sealed,” in my opinion means that without the guidance of your parents or someone else love will never last. Or I feel it could also mean that without guidance of where you want your relationship to go with someone that it won’t be sealed and it may just fade away.
In the seventh line, “Without a mission life has o vision,” could mean that if you don’t have a goal in life you won’t amount to much and people won’t look twice at you. In the eighth line, “Without a path your life will be bedazzled,” basically says something similar to what the seventh line does and how you need to have goals in life. If you don’t have a certain path that you follow in life you're not going to amount to much.
The last line, “Without plan you will strongly regret and bewailed,” this line I think is very similar to lines seven and eight. If you don’t know what you want to do with your life you won’t go anywhere and in the end you are going to regret not getting your life together sooner than you did.
My overall opinion of this poem was it was basically just about the qualities of life and about how people need to set goals for themselves so they have something to live and work for so they can have a successful life.

The Highwayman” by Alfred Noyes

The poem under analysis is “The Highwayman” by Alfred Noyes. Alfred Noyes was an English poet best known for his ballads, “The Highwayman” and “The Barrel-Organ”. This poem is another great story poem about star-crossed lovers. “The Highwayman” has a pattern of AABCCB. This pattern continues through every paragraph throughout the poem. The sThis poem depicts how two opposite people try to be together but outside forces push them away and prevent them from being together. “The Highwayman” stands for guys with a life of crime trying to get by and he finds this girl that changes his whole life and he tries showing it but never gets the chance to show her before she is taken from him. Noyes has great rhyming words to describe how the characters are feeling and what they look like and how they are feeling at the moments. This really shows when he is showing how the landlord’s daughter is feeling and knowing what she has to do to save her love. My opinion of this poem is that this is a great star-crossed story of two lovers who try making it work and end up being separated by outside forces. Alfred Noyes to me expresses the feeling of waiting for a loved one to return and then their loved one being killed.

Deer hunting

Deer Hunting Time is Here Again is a poem by Kathleen West. The story in this poem is taking place outdoors in the woods during deer hunting season with a family member. In my analysis I have found the poem is 4 stanzas long each containing 4 likes per stanza. With no internal rhyme sceme or end rhyme sceem but does have a sort of flow to the words every other line. The first stanza seems to be more anticipation to get out with the family and hunting. The second and third stanzas’ has the feeling of pride in their past and what they have learned from years before them.

Poetry Analysis Passion of Life by Pooja Natarajan

Poetry Analysis
Passion of Life by Pooja Natarajan

The poem being analyzed is called Passion of Life. This poem is by Pooja Natarajan. Pooja writes according to recent experiences or her latest feelings. She puts an enormous amount of emotion into her poems and expresses everything vividly. She uses a lot of metaphors and similes.

The poem passion of Life is very inspiring and heartwarming. It gives the reader courage in life to never back down or give up. “if you follow your passion success will follow you” is a repeated phrase in this poem. It is saying to do what you want and follow your dreams and good will come. I like that phrase very much, i think it is very good to live by.

In this poem it talks about the winds being our propeler of our vessel, boat of life, and that our reason for this passion is what controls the vessel. This poem tells you that no dream is too big and no passion unimaginable. I think everyone should believe in what they want and know that no dream is too large to make reality.

Eyes of Silence

What i’m getting from this poem is that some people keep their feelings or emotions to themselves. And they don’t let anybody see what’s going on inside. In this poem, Eyes of Silence, Katie Klopfer is trying to say all that. This poem is about a person who has plenty of emotions but puts a wall up and doesn’t let anybody in, doesn’t let anybody know what’s wrong. But maybe one day that person will get sick of being so alone and have so much on their mind and finally reach out to somebody. Eyes of Silence is kind of.. sad maybe.. more like deep. Theres really no rhyme to this poem. Katie M. Klopfer was born in 1978. Katie has lived in Buffalo, New York all her life. She is now 60 years old. I personally liked this poem. The author showed the feelings the person in this poem were feeling.

A Brand New Day

"A Brand New Day"
Rest your and close your eyes
Everything will be okay
For when you wake with the sweet sunrise
It will be a brand new day
Turn down the lights and pull me close
Feel only the beating of our hearts as we lay
For when you wake with the soft morning breeze
It will be a brand new day
Relax your body and caress my soft hair
Let all of life's worries melt away
For when you wake with the warm summer scent
It will be a brand new day
Fall fast asleep and dream with me
Whisper "I love you, I'm here to stay"
For when we wake in each other's arms
It will be a brand new day
I am analyzing the poem “A Brand New Day” by an unknown author. This poem is about a couple coming together, and making each other feel better. I think this is a great poem, it shows great emotion and it also has repetition in this poem. This poem is from a man’s perspective. I think this is about a girl who is upset about something, and the man is saying there is always up. There will always be a new day. In this poem, the author used repetition. I think he used repetition, “It will be a brand new day”, to show how you never give up, and don’t take things so hard because there will always be a day, and the sun is always going to come up. The author also uses an end rhyme. The author rhymes “day” with other words such as; stay, away, okay, and lay. Poems with end rhymes seem to flow, and are more fun to read.
I feel this poem is about a man comforting his wife or girlfriend or friend. The woman must be going through a hard time, and is looking for the man to help her. I feel this poem is showing the ways the man is comforting her, and making her feel better. I really like this poem and how it shows so much emotion. Also, how a man can help a girl going through a hard time. The author did a good job with this poem. I really enjoyed this poem it was very easy to read.
